Astra White is a 21st Century Ambassador of Peace and Magic living in Salem Oregon.  An Artist, Teacher, Activist,  Shamanic Healer, Medium and Medicine Woman who has been cultivating a relationship with Plant Spirit Medicine and our collective mystical human nature for more than thirty years.   She is dedicated to The Durga and moving energy for earth healing and positive change.  She hails from Taos, New Mexico and currently lives in Salem, Oregon where she is cultivating a relationship with the magical Willamette River, a pair of black swans and the Suburban Fey.  

Meeting Our Ancestors at the River

A River of Time, 

DNA and Love flows to us from our Ancestors. Join us on a trance journey to meet them as they gather at the banks of this River. Our Grandmothers stretching back seven generations and our Grandchildren stretching seven generations forward are waiting for us. They offer wisdom, gifts, and love beyond all reason. This trance journey offers us safe access to an ongoing connection to our own beloved Ancestors for healing and spiritual expansion.

for those who would like to participate but feel resistance due to ancestral trauma and abuse there will be a separate pre-workshop formed to listen to and address these stories. Guided by the facilitators the goal of this circle will be that everyone who chooses to can understand the Ancestral Realms in such a way that we can all be comfortable gathered at the River secure in the knowledge that trauma is healed by love.

Making Our Own Flower Remedies

The Earth around us is alive with medicine! Making our own mental health remedy with the flowers that grow around us can be a super positive response to our current collective challenges. Flower Remedies are very effective non-invasive tinctures that work on the body through energetic vibration shifts much like homeopathy. This workshop teaches us how to deepen our relationship with the flowers and wild plants around us. We will learn to connect to the Plant Spirit Medicine Realm and The Realm of the Nature Divas. We will be creating our own individual flower medicines made at a sacred time (during The Festival!) in a sacred space (Dragons' Gate Gardens!)

Auriel Rose will delight you with her wisdom  of ancient “crystal energy” techniques that are so necessary in our  lives today. Learn about the different kinds of crystals and their  healing properties, including the spirituality aspects of crystal  healing utilized in different cultures during different eras around the  earth. Her crystal healing classes consist of her presentation on  different specimens, their unique qualities, and how to reap the  benefits of crystals in your life. There will be time for crystal  shopping for those interested.

Auriel  has found that plants are very emotional just as we are.  When one is  exposed to the whimsical music of the plants it makes one aware of plant  consciousness in a way not previously experienced.  From her studies  with the plant realm, Auriel has gained a deeper understanding of the  interconnection of all life. Learn about how plants can make their own  music with the use of a U-1 device. Auriel will share how plants learn  basics such as timing and discovering their forms of interaction, their  cycles, and sense of humor! 

Kathleen  Tougher Greco 'aka'  Auriel Rose is the Dragon Crone of the North West  and Keeper of Dragon  Crystals.  She is the third of four children whose  mother was deeply  involved in her church and church music.  She  learned to sing as she  learned to talk; on the alter by 6 she was doing  solo work by 8.  She  lived a life steeped in the love and enjoyment of  life's rituals and  ceremonies.  Teen club leader and Girl Scout gave  way to Master Costumer  in the International Costumers Guild,  Celebration Artist and  ceremonialist; Catholic, Christian, Pagan. 

Always   researching and learning more she studied with Native American Teacher   "Oceana" and learned crystal grid work from Sir James Hughes.  Working   with Taylore and Roi at Reiki Ranch she has become a Laser Reiki  Master.   Auriel has performed as the Bard for the Druids at Sunrise for  Spring  Equinox on Glastonbury Tor as well as singing the "Ave Maria"  in a  Cathedral dedicated to Mary Magdalene in Southern France.

Today   Auriel is the steward of 126 acre sanctuary and the Lightbrarian of 15   tons of Giant Museum Quality Crystals .  30 minutes South East of   Olympia along the Skookumchuck River you'll find Dragons' Gate Gardens   and Wellness Center.  The unique combination of Sound healing and   working with her Crystal Grid Table enables Auriel to assist others in   reaching a deeper understanding of crystal consciousness and how   beneficial that can be to our bodies and souls.

Born at Rose Door of Dawn

Emerging at Sunrise On a bright morning in the month of Roses and Hawthorne In the City of Roses during the peak of Rose Festival

Quite the entrance for a wee fairy-human to become a Bringer of the Dawn as Priestess of Love and Lore~later to be known as the IrReverend Miss Lady Fern DeFay~High Priestess of Funk. 

Fern was born to Lady Cyn DeFay, a fairy-human changeling and self-cultivated Priestess. As natural mystic and healer from birth, Cyn struggled with alienation due to the spiritual beliefs of her family and rebelled by giving her children a spiritually inclusive and multi-cultural rearing.

At the magical age of 13, Fern’s mom Lady Cyn, “Came Out of the Broom Closet” as a modern witch, about her magical perceptions and powers since youth, their family history’s matrilineal folk magic traditions “from the Old Ways from the Old Country” and was actively reviving the magical line in the family. In-home lessons began shortly thereafter in the ancestral legacy of their Celtic line, the Pagans of Pre-Christian Europe, the Seasonal Wheel of the Year and rituals that traditionally accompany them. When Fern was 15, she was visited by Bridget, the Irish Fairy Goddess of the Hearth. She was photographed as an apparition in their family’s hearth fire shortly after Bridget’s Feast Day rite had been performed. Bridget told Lady Cyn and Fern that they were of her family line and her chosen daughters and the first to remember to pay her tribute in countless generations. From this point on life as “Born again Pagans” began for the DeFay Family. Shortly thereafter, Fern began her training in The Craft as an Altar Girl to the Goddess, training with her magical elders, her mother’s rituals at home and with elder clergy at public rites in the Pagan community. As a result, Fern became adept as a young teen witch. She was groomed for community leadership while still a Virgin Maiden Priestess and served effectively as a mouth piece for the Old Ways in the New World.

After high school graduation with honors, Fern enrolled directly in higher education within both secular academia and pagan mystery school. In university life, Fern excelled in social sciences and humanities with extra zeal for ancient world history and cultural anthropology. Beginning at Portland State University and completing at The Evergreen State College, Fern completed a BA in Cultural Studies with emphasis on Irish Studies. Simultaneously, she studied at the Pagan Mystery School the “Sacred Grove of Oak, Rowan and Yew”. Here, Fern spent over six years involved in rigorous coursework studies and practices of ritual composition, pagan history, world mythology, tree lore, herb crafting and love magic. While double enrolled in Muggle and Magical colleges, Fern continued her role as Altar Girl.  

A Village Herbalist at heart, as a Canadian girl on my father's side, we were taught Harvesting the Land around us which was my intro, at an early age, to living the good life. My desire to study from our Herbalist Elders continues everyday as the way I’ve learned about Plants, Mother Nature, & Father Sky as they intended for us to use.

I was fortunate to be in the Floral Industry working with plants & flowers. I sourced Organically Grown Plants, Herbs & Cut Flowers whenever possible. Having this as a niche for caterers, I was sought out for the unique & safe plant & flower materials for events. 

I founded three retail flower shops:

· Tudor Rose for 15 years at The Living History Center's Renaissance Fair in Southern CA

· The Paramount Ranch in Agoura

·  As well as Black Point in Marin County - Northern California.

· The Flower Song  in Sebastopol

·  Rose & Thistle in Bellingham, WA

Being a florist for 35 years, I produced a series of deco designs for Mimi Farina of Bread & Roses Music Festival at The Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA.
For five to seven years, I volunteered to do set design & sold long stem roses to the public as to pay for the cost of this enormous undertaking. This event was created by The Bread & Roses  Foundation & run by volunteers including all food and entertainment. The beautiful Claremont Hotel was the backdrop for the party given to the volunteers with many of the top name entertainment, from the festival, providing music & dance. I also produced banners for the back drop, large flower garlands for across the front of the stage. 

The “Painted Rose” logo for “The Bread & Roses" band in 1979 was created  by Stanley Mouse, who brought me to my first Bread & Roses Festival in 1977.He encouraged me to write Mimi Farina of my ideas for stage & backstage décor.
This began another serious step into my career as a Stage Designer.
My farm life brought me more contentment than all the driving & purchasing I did for retail shops, weddings, stage & other large events.
Here I was content & created "Moon River Botanicals" infused oils from herbs made into  skin care for wholesale. Along with all the joy that gathering & producing brings.
I continue to share knowledge, as A Village Herbalist.

Francesco is an engineer and long-time appropriate technology advocate.  He was the co-founder and Director of the Norwegian Center for Appropriate Technology in the 1970s.  His interest in those technologies led him to attend the ETHOS (Engineers in Technical and Humanitarian Opportunities of Service) Conference in 2011.   Through that experience, he worked with several NGOs which promote clean cook stoves that also produce biochar.  

In 2014 Francesco collaborated with the Port of Port Townsend, designing and building biochar filters to remove heavy metals form stormwater runoff.  He teamed with several Jefferson County farms in the production and incorporation of biochar.  In Sequim he collaborated with a mushroom farmer to develop a commercial gasifer stove used to pasteurize straw and make biochar.

Francesco and his wife, Joan, created Olympic BioChar (OB) in 2015 to promote biochar’s uses and benefits and provide a locally made biochar.   OB donates biochar to area school gardens for co-composting and other garden/orchard applications which introduce biochar to students.  Most recently, Francesco’s focus is on regenerating soils to produce nutrient dense food by using biochar, mineral balancing, etc

In this deeply intimate workshop Elwin Herman will introduce you to the sacred art of dying. We will learn how a Death Doula helps people plan a meaningful death by providing emotional comfort & 

support to them and their families.  You can change people’s lives by changing how they walk to their deaths. Our workshop  discusses how we feel about death and the fear and shadow that surrounds it then ends bringing it to the light of unconditional love.

Bring  your voice and inner sounds to a musical improvisational journey that  will travel through unique and beautiful soundscapes inspired by the  melodies and rhythms of Nature and the Earth. Clear blockages and stuck  stories from your past and ride a co-created magic carpet of sound to  open up to to powerful medium of musical communication with yourself,  others and to the Earth.
